We will be dedicating a NEW 4 x 10' plaque displaying the names of the 230 survivors of the sinking of the U.S.A.T Dorchester. Chaplains in the armed services bring "Hope" to the Service Members. The Four Chaplains Memorial Foundation will be celebrating the birthday of CH Joseph O'Callahan a Navy Chaplain who received the MOH for his actions during WWII in the seas off the coast of Japan.
All competitors, event staff, volunteers and public are invited to the Central Region Nordic Alliance National TrailO Championship Meeting at the Chapel from 6-8. We will have a social hour from 8-9 under the tent. Come and meet the athletes.
We are moving our February Banquet to Armed Forces Day. Our hope is that we will be able to host a BBQ for our members and friends and an evening Banquet under the stars. More details to follow.
The Capital Region Nordic Alliance will be hosting a Veteran para-Olympic Orienteering Event at the Navy Yard co-hosted by the Four Chaplains. All Veterans are welcome to participate.
The Marian Anderson Historical Society lead by Jillian Pirtle will be hosting a live concert at the Chapel from 12:00 - 4:00. Come join us. Bring a picnic basket and sit int he tent and listen to some beautiful music.
